Not everyone’s personalities match so some people prefer different types of agents. I am a strong negotiator but also look after my clients needs and take a personal interest in every client that I have. Some REALTORS® in Saskatoon are strictly business and don’t go above and beyond to get to know you or what type of communication you prefer or care about your needs. I am not one of those agents. I think you can be a very effective agent by treating everyone with respect and good communication. I don’t believe in taking on more listings or more clients than I can service properly which is also important. Some agents are more concerned about having the most houses for sale in Saskatoon and area but I believe being able to take care of my listings is more important.

I will be honest with you, the seller, in your pricing and in feedback. Any agent can tell you what you want to hear but I believe in honesty. When doing my CMA’s (comparative market analysis) I am going to give you a price range that is realistic and based on previous sales and concrete data. The same data that a certified home appraiser would use which is important. If you, the seller, wants to list your home for way more than the current market is indicating you will get market damage. If you can find a Saskatoon real estate agent to list it for that price chances are the listing will end up expiring or the agent will have to keep coming to you for price decreases. If you had listed it with a professional who knew what they were doing when it comes to price this process would be much easier and likely end up earning you the same money in less time.
Another thing to think about is that you get what you pay for. While it may appear that you will save money with one agent or one brokerage you may end up losing more if they aren’t as invested in getting you the best price. Each of us has marketing fees and if a Saskatoon real estate agent is charging a minimal fee to list your home they likely won’t be able to effectively market your home which could cost you more in the end or they are more interested in a quick sale so they will push for a lower list price and will want it sold quickly so may not represent your needs as well as they should.
