Martensville has grown from a town to a city in the past 5 years. In 2009 the city was granted city status. This city is the fastest growing city in Saskatchewan and the second-fastest nationally (as of 2011). In 2006 there were just under 5000 residents (4968) and in 2011 it grew to a population of 7716. Martensville is only 8km from the outskirts of Saskatoon on a divided highway so access to the city makes this a popular community to live in.
Martensville has 2 elementary schools and one high school. On the south side of Martensville you will find the Valley Manor Elementary School and on the north side you will find Venture Heights Elementary and the Martensville High School.
While the city does not have its own police service yet it is in contract with the RCMP and Corman Park Police Service and the Saskatoon City Police provides additional assistance if necessary.
You will find many businesses in Martensville as it is a full service city. I don’t believe they lack any normal business with a great Veterinarian clinic in Martensville to even having their own Dollar Store.
There are many houses for sale in Martensville and it is a busy real estate market as it is another of Saskatoon’s easy commute cities.
