The town of Rosthern grew from 1382 people in 2006 to 1572 people in 2011. The town is located at the juncture of Highway 11 (to Prince Albert) and Highway 312. It is located about halfway between Saskatoon and Prince Albert.

Rosthern has three schools; an elementary school, a high school, and a private high school, Rosthern Junior College. Rosthern Elementary and Rosthern High School are both part of the Prairie Spirit School Division.

The town of Rosthern has emergency services such as: ambulance, fire department, rescue squad and RCMP all within the town.

The town of Rosthern boasts more than 100 retail services and home based businesses including a few restaurants, a hospital with six doctors, a chiropractic clinic, dental office, etc. There is also a new Aquatic Centre with a junior-sized Olympic pool (outdoor) and an arena/curling rink facility as well as other sporting venues such as ball diamonds, tennis courts, batting cages, soccer fields, bowling alley, football field, etc.

Due to the location of Rosthern there aren’t many people who live in Rosthern and commute to Saskatoon or Prince Albert.

Real estate in Rosthern is more geared towards people who are working in or near the community.
